Meet The Team

Emma Cockbill

Artistic Director 

Emma is a freelance musician, educator and workshop leader. She is passionate about the importance of music education, especially singing, and wants to improve access to quality music education for all children. As well as her role as the Artistic Director of Warwickshire Youth Choirs, Emma is very proud to be the Senior Programme Manager and one the founders of Apollo, a charity which improves mental health and wellbeing through music and the arts. Apollo run performance-based, participatory music projects and bespoke training programmes in partnership with organisations such as Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and the NHS. Emma is also a conductor, teacher and repetiteur for a number of organisations and has a wealth of experience in SEND music workshops. She is an accomplished pianist and is a busy chamber musician, playing concerts and raising money for charity. Emma studied music at Emmanuel College, Cambridge where she was also a Senior Choral Exhibitioner.

Aliyah Wiggins

Aliyah is a singer songwriter from Birmingham who began her journey as a music leader in 2020. Since then, she has worked with multiple organisations such as; Welsh National Opera as their Vocal Leader Intern, B’Opera, Quench Arts and more, expanding her knowledge and experience along the way. Throughout her career, she has shared her passion and knowledge of singing, creating workshops for all ages, infusing music technology and multiple genres of music.

Aliyah is currently completing her Quench Arts CME course to obtain her Level 4 Certificate for Music Educators accreditation from Trinity Guildhall, as well as her You Are Gold: Gold Arts Award. For her next chapter, she has begun working with Warwickshire Sings to continue expanding on her musical knowledge whilst working within schools delivering sessions!

Hannah Dodd 

Hannah is thrilled to be part of the WYC team and enjoys teaching in schools at in the community. She is very passionate about music, both from a teaching and performing aspect. Hannah has a busy teaching studio and also works for Warwick A Singing Town as a Choral Animateur.  She is Head of Music at the ELAN School of Movement, which provides dance and music sensory classes for adults and children with SEND. Hannah has said that if it weren’t for her Head of Music, she wouldn’t be the musician she is today and because of this, she is ensuring she will have the same influence on her students.

Carolina Chinigo

Carolina is a pianist by night and by day an AV technician specialising in sound.

Although she has played the piano for her own enjoyment for many years, she took the leap into choir accompaniment in 2024 with the University of Warwick’s Staff Choir and is now also a repetiteur and professional pianist. With her knowledge of backstage theatre and professional events, for example working with Leamington Music, Carolina has developed a broad understanding of the operational side of the music industry, which she wishes to put into practice with Warwickshire Youth Choirs. Carolina is thrilled to expand her repertoire at every chance she is given and her experience in numerous local jazz bands and amateur productions has given her a broad range of useful musicianship skills that she is keen on sharing with young musicians.
